Anyway, Crane trip was supercool. Chouette, as they say in French (which I have to dumbly take next semester). We saw some cranes, played some cards, got to know some people a lot better, quoted family guy EXCESSIVELY, and formed, to my knowledge, the best and only Jew's harp and Recorder musical duet with Evan. We played along with everyday activities. From one girl who we musicalized her tooth brushing time; "That was the best tooth brushing experience I've ever had."

Good times, good times. Plus, last night on my new guilty pleasure Prehistoric Park, Nigel captured Archaopteryx relatives... with nets. Plus, his team had to outrun CO2 levels. hehehe.

So sugoicon was mostly awesome. I saw some old friends, made a few new ones, got in on a coupla Magic drafts, got my Hannya costume (go Abi!)... and stuff. I have decided I partook of not enough of the two staple foods of a con- pocky and ramen. O well, it was still fun. Now im back in school. finished an essay and a sculpture, still have 3 more tests, one 15 hour drawing, and mucho procrastination to take care of. So... ya.

ok; i know i said i would start posting more frequently.
technically, since this post is only 2 months after the last one, and that one was over 6 months after the previous one, i am posting more frequently. Ahah!

anyway, college is good. I miss people, but ill see them sometime. started a good rpg game here, d&d and GURPS. for some strange unexplained reason, people in my drawing class actually like my art... which scares me. maybe im becoming a better artist? that also scares me. And my keyboard is ignoring random keys i type every now and again, which makes me question both its sanity, its alignment, and its batteries. Mostly the batteries, its the moniter which is evil after all. Every once in a while it gives an evil laugh out of nowhere. Completely serious. It's creepy and funny, especially when other people are in the room.

Some things I did tonight.

-Wrote an english paper about how Fowler tries to be unemotional and detached in The Quiet American, but he cannot do this and remain human.

-played some more of Seiken Densetsu 3 (aka Secret of Mana 2), and beat the first God-Beast

-took a walk with my music. on the walk:
-I sat under a tree for a while. There was a patch of sky in the branches above me, and although it was dark it was lighter than the leaves. After starting at the spot for awhile, it seemed that above that there was a lighter area, just out of my vision, but when i looked it was dark as ever. So I went back to the patch of night sky. There were only three stars in it, and they weren't very bright. Stars here are nothing like the stars in Utah, but somehow the three stars fit very well.
-Walked to the Wishing Post and prayed
-Watched a cicade ramble about on the sidewalk for about 20 minutes. It went in great curves on the cement, turning gently away everytime it neared the grass. Eventually I told it I hoped it would find what it was looking for and went on my way.
-I was out long enough to finish my cd completely.

so i guess I'll start up again w/ a little bit of updating after a 5 month hiatus.

I'm at college. Earlham in the small town of Richmond Indiana. It's really really diverse here. There seems to be quite a bit of punkish, GLBT, etc people here, not to mention a whole bunch of girls with really short hair. Theres also a high amount of christians in general, and quakers too, since it is a quaker school (historically).

In August I did a month-long wilderness excursion to the Uinta mountains in Utah for backpacking and all that fun stuff. I started college knowing more people from that, which is good.

I'm in drawing, eco-bio, beginning chem, viet nam war stories, and living and learning in community (?!?). Just now i went to the anime club, which was frickin huge, and way different from the one at cranbrook; they show four shows at a time, three episodes of two one week and three of the other two the next week, and alternate. Gonna be hard to keep up. Going to the spectrum club here tonight, just to see how it is.

I have the bookstore pic hanging above my computer, as a reminder of the very slim chances of my ever seeing any of you again, and also of the very real impossiblity of ever seeing you all together again, ever.

so, a coupla things

1.) I was babysitting for some family friends, and they didnt get back until 2:30 in the morning. I felt like i needed to stay up just in case the kids needed me (they were asleep at 10), and in any case it was just a half hour till they got back... and then another half hour... and another, and by then all sleepiness had worn off. so, anyway, after they got back, i was driving home in a post-adrenaline (or some other stay-awake chemical) induced stupor, when the radio began playing a very strange song. the chorus contained the lyrics "I wish I had Jesse's girl", which was probably the song title as well. When i fell asleep not 10 minutes later (in my bed, not behind the wheel) I had a very strange, slightly disturbing, and, psychoanalitically speaking, fascinating dream related to that song. I didn't remember any bit of it when i woke up, but I'm sure it would have make a great journal entry.

2.) I'm off lent! whoohoo! so... yeah, i ate probly at least half a pound of chocolate easter morning. woot! aaaand im having steak tonite, woot again.

3.) POST!!!

So, i finally bit the bullet, so they say, and chose a college- Earlham (in indiana, on the border of ohio).
just submitted the i-want-to-go-to-your-college slip not 15 minutes ago.
unfortunately i forgot the $250 deposit, so i had to tear the envelop open, put the check in, and then tape it closed again with scotch tape... that doesn't look too smart... heh

anyway, vacations almost over. gogo Acquire the Fire, weekend christian concert woot! leave friday at noon. did almost all hw, my metalsmithing sculpture is looking cool, drew one of my best pictures everever in my writing journal, and even colored it w/ colored pencils, labeled it "Karshinala, "The Bright One". Goddess of Retribution, Compassion, and the Flame". Woot

I got accepted to all five of the colleges i applied to.

I guess i should be happy, but i wish i didn't have so many choices to make. if i had gotten rejected a couple places, i coulda narrowed it down a bit. now i dont know where im going... at least 3 schools are high on my list right now... grrr...

So, we just got all new furniture for the study, aka, the room where the computer is.

so as soon as i got home from 8 hours of robotics followed of 2 hours of driving, i had to reassemble the computer that had been taken apart so the new desk could be put in. And my dad put the desk like an inch away from the wall, so getting all the wiring and stuff behind the desk and through this little hole in the back was not so fun.

and the tower is so far away from stuff that the mouse cord is super short, and boo, and i cant lean back and type or do stuff anymore... boo squared

anyway, enough bitching. I just drew what is quite possibly the bestest drawing ive ever drawn: it's for the online rp forum thing, its a picture of my character (Quickbeam the ent weeeeeeeeeee!!!), its super cool, the only thing colored as of now are the eyes, thier like autumn ish with brown and orange and gold and flecks of yellow :), and his hair was super fun to draw cause its all branchy and twiggy and stuff

woot! so with any luck, my *insert appropriate direction* side of the brain will continue to function glorifully and i can finish chapter one of my fanfic... probly wishful thinking tho... heh
